a season of change

Fall is most definitely my favorite season. I believe it is the season with the most significant change. As we enter, the leaves on the trees are still fresh and green, the days long, and the grass dry. However at the end of Fall, the days are very short, the weather is much colder, and the leaves fall to the ground. For some of us (those who don’t live in L.A.) there is even snow. I think the best part of fall is the part we’re in right now; the midst of Autumn where the air has gets a bit nippier as the days go on, the leaves change color and the fall wardrobes come out. This Fall in particular has been one of change for me. To start off, I’m 22 now. I thought I’d be more upset about this than I actually am but I’m just another year more lived, another year wiser. I don’t live on campus anymore which has kind of disconnected me a bit from campus life. This is good for me though…I think. I don’t want to be too attached to the school I’m about to leave. I spend Mondays and Fridays interning at Sony Pictures for their Television Production department now and I think I’ve started to discover my niche. At first I felt sort of awkward walking around the studio almost as if I had snuck on and someone would find me out. However, now I feel as though I belong there and I really enjoy what I do so hopefully I can turn it into something fruitful after I graduate in May. I think all the time about how last time this year I was spending the weekend in France and Switzerland for my 21st and how I thought I would never ever be able to leave Europe because of how happy I was. Now, I’m equally as happy with where I am and what I’m doing. When I was younger I couldn’t handle change and would attempt to avoid it or stop it at any cost. However now, I accept it welcomingly because I never know exactly what it will bring. It’s quite exciting actually.

What I've Been Up To

The New York Times just published an article mostly about Sony Pictures Entertainment's two co-presidents but also a bit about the culture and working life at the studio. I've included the link for those who are interested about where I've been spending my Mondays and Fridays.
